How about holding people accountable for what people do?

There's a difference between being responsible and being accountable. Everyone should be responsible.

I never once implied they shouldn't be accountable, to be honest I don't think you read my post at all.

Nothing wrong with being held accountable for your actions. The means by which you're held accountable should not be abusive, however.

They’re accountable to people who don’t care about your issue, that’s not a lack of accountability. Accountability doesn’t always mean you agree with the direction or outcome.

An organization can not be accountable, unless a human is accountable.

Agreed. Everyone can only be held accountable for their own actions. So let those who can influence demand do so, and let those who can control supply do so.

I will take blame over accountability. Being accountable is a lot of work, that is rarely rewarded. And blame usually does not have any real consequences.

i like this take. people like being heard, but people don't like putting in the time to really weigh on things, let alone being accountable.

I generally agree with the above, but you're framing this as a disagreement which makes me think you misunderstood the context of the thread.

My position is that there is some accountability but it's not sufficient for any reasonable standard of justice.

Holding people accountable for personal actions taken 10+ years ago is one thing. Holding them accountable for public statements made on behalf of a hugely influential company is different altogether.

No one is actually accountable for it. Those are slightly different things
