In TFA it quotes Musk himself confirming OP's claims. Why would Musk do that if they weren't true?

I'm not sure why would anyone would trust what Musk says without independent confirmation...

Yep, this is trivial to falsify, Musk jumped to an incorrect conclusion based on some anecdotes that he did not follow: https://twitter.com/Popeska/status/1592179502838435847

Why would Musk saying anything be a confirmation? He has a history of lying and misrepresenting.

Musk says lots of nonsense. I wouldn't believe him just because he says something.

I mean, it wouldn't surprise me if that's true, but it's pretty risky just taking Musk's word for it.

It appears that to Musk anything or anyone who dares question him isn't "real".

True or not, that doesn't answer the question, it only suggests motive, not accuracy in this case.

Musk claims lots of things on Twitter that aren't true.

Musk has said a lot of things that didn't ring true.

I'll admit I had vague memory of Musk's tweet and thought he was merely questioning the overall narrative (which was quite messy honestly) with a text reply, but apparently he linked to an article with baseless claims like you mentioned.

I was willing to give Musk the benefit of the doubt about this initially, but that was clearly misjudged on his end.

I stand corrected.

> Rather than an error of memory, I think it's far, far more likely he just made them up

And it's impossible to tell either way. So clearly the over the top attitude of Musk was unwarranted.

I'm not implying they aren't true. Just pointing out Musk laying the groundwork to try and discredit whatever was coming.

There's a very well known case of Musk making the same claim multiple years in a row, with it being false every single time.

I prefer to assume the best out of people, but when someone is that obviously wrong that many times with that much personal gain to come from it, I can't believe that man as smart as he is would also be that misled.

you're throwing cold water on this claim, but not Musk's tweet. How is one more believable than the other? You're coming off as biased.

That's one reason I cited Musk's claims. Not all his claims are accurate.

The substantiation is Musk's own words, easily visible to all.

Part of the "nothing is true" aspect is to make people start to doubt their own eyes. Let's not fall in honesty to the point where Musk's own Twitter timeline is not proof of what he is saying.

Anything Musk says is unreliable with a fairly substantial history as proof.

Oh really? Musk said that? Then it's be true...

> Musk is making claims that are not technically possible

Which ones specifically?

Doesn't Musk saying it make it a rumor?
