You're talking about a population.

sort by: page size:

Populations consist of… people.

How about a human population?

Or populations.

Right! It's about populations, not individuals.

You're using baked-in world population distribution information exactly to make that statement.

When you're talking about an individual, of course. When you're talking about a population - what is replacing that?

Population: One?

What about a population with that size AND age distribution?

Okay, but you have to define large, don't you? What is the population size you have in mind?

We are talking about an awfully high number of people right now. I was thinking on a global scale.

I think the word you're reaching for is "populace"

Maybe you should read what I said. I used population density in response to someone else using it.

basically like global population.

You’re ignoring the finite population and the actual numbers involved.

You could ask this question about many human populations

You mean n. N is population size.

Do you not understand what an example is?

multiple 200 by whatever number you feel will represent a true population.

I don't mean to be a pedantic jerk, and I'm only mentioning it because I would want to be corrected similarly: I think the word you meant to use was 'populace', not 'populous'.

Yeah, that's what I meant. (Except that the world population is now nearly 8 billion.)
