Totally agree with you. What happens right now gives the feeling that the military coup has succeeded.

So... you're in favour of the current military coup?

This is unbelievable. Is it the beginning of a coup?

In a vacuum I agree with you; but when it's election interference, with rhetoric leading to an actual attempted coup...I am not so sure.

It should be treated as a coup attempt.

Military coups are good now?

Isn't it the general consensus that the coup was staged?

No matter how justified or not the coup is, the military overthrowing an elected leader is as close to the opposite of any notion of democracy as I can imagine.

Are you saying you think this was a failed coup? On what basis? It looks nothing like the coups I'm familiar with.

I'm willing to change my opinion as soon as someone provides me some evidence that this was actually a coup, and not a riot that's being inflated to order to justify sweeping authoritarianism.

One could argue the fact there's been so many coup d'etats by the military shows the military continues to hold the power.

You have almost 80 million people thinking those people are correct. This is not a coup, this is a brink of civil war.

And that's healthy, I believe opposing sides should have a go at it.

Is this a coup?

Are you saying there is currently a coup going on, and the armed forces are taking over the government?

The military always had real control. The coup is over them feeling they didn't have as much as they wanted

Military coup.

When John McCain flies out and meets the head of the opposition, who thereafter storm the capital with assault rifles, and the president of the country flees, it sure looks like a western backed coup to me.

I think it was a coup, actually.

Very promising for a turnaround to pull off a coup like this.

It's good to have some hope, but to date there's been a consistent refutation of that.

I'm among those that believe that the coup is already complete and it's now a matter of them holding on to it.
