I've seen no evidence of trump supporters being targeted. There is no trend.

edit: wait, is it possible that just because I don't see it happening doesn't mean it isn't? Kind of like police brutality against black lives?

sort by: page size:

can you provide at least anecdotal examples of attacks committed by trump supporters?

How many times did you call out the behavior when people were walking up to Trump supporters and punching them in the face? Bonus points if you posted it to places like, well, Facebook. Or bash their car or throw a rock through their window? This is not new, it's just happening to a different political crowd now and for some strange reason people can now finally call it out without feeling a tinge bit hypocritical.

All of these efforts are happening to prevent Trump supporters from speaking. I'm certain you would not apply the same judgement to Trump supporters who are just speaking about violence, would you?

Attacks only get better.

I also didn't mean to imply it was only Trump voters who were subject to this. That's just the most recent and most extreme example.

Know of any what, exactly? Why don't you go and list the times Trump supporters have been punished, since the previous examples I've mention don't seem to be that big of a deal to you.

So five Trump supporters are killed and that's not police brutality? I just want to make sure I got this narrative straight.

It's a strawman. There isn't some rash of unprovoked public beatings of people because they happen to be Trump supporters.

They don't seem to care when blue checks empassionately call for the murder of trump supporters

I'm just going to say again that I can't for the life of me understand why people are in agreement that this tweet glorifies violence. It is a call to stop being violent lest violence increase.

Looting always leads to shooting. This is a simple fact.

I'm horrified that so many people think me saying that is glorifying violence. I don't understand it in the slightest. Seeing this tweet by Trump get silenced absolutely convinces me that there is a conspiracy. Not so much against the right, but against truth.

The entire point of the paid-for violence uncovered by Project Veritas was to paint Trump supporters as the violent ones. So yeah, there's reason to question whether those were actual Trump supporters (who from my experience are generally very peaceful).

It isn't a concern about moral corruption with Trump and Trump supporters, it's a concern for physical safety.

We've seen Trump enable and condone his supporters assaulting people.

Will he reign in the violent supporters? This is what I want to know. To date, he has not.

Thanks for this clarification. I am also still confused as to why Trump himself has been the target of all these tech/social media platforms. As far as I can tell he has not incited violence - imminent or otherwise. Yes he has made exaggerated/false claims about the election, yes he has not condemned the criminal acts of the capitol rioters, but as far as I can tell he has not encouraged or incited violence. And each time I have asked this question of friends or on HN, I've not received a substantive answer.

Can you please point to some of the recent attacks that you think were perpetrated by Trump supporters?

I wasn't aware he had a large base in Oakland.

What a news-bubble you live in. Multiple cities burned over the summer while many politicians, activist, and newspapers encouraged protests. Numerous Trump supporters were assaulted. At least two Trump supporters were shot to death.

The fact that you don’t know and don’t care about this shows in what politically-biased bad faith you’re operating.

I don't read the news much, so this is the first I'm hearing of people attacking the White House. These supposedly Trump-supporters... were attacking Trump?

Considering how Trump is never there for his supporters, I'm surprised he has any left.

I'm skeptical that there will be any more significant protests anywhere in the country. The Capitol mob was a portion of the most hard-core who travelled to D.C. this late after the election to show support for what exactly?

This is wholly independent of the issue of persistently casting doubt on the quality of the election since before the election, which obviously isn't right.

Also the double-standard with more than 100 days of BLM protests -- that were often protests but also were often riots -- is kinda funny. Trump is involved so suddenly it's domestic terrorism even though very little property was damaged, certainly not buildings burnt to the ground and people murdered in the street like we saw before.

The hyperbole on both sides really needs to be dialed down to 1. Noone has behaved themselves well throughout this presidency.

So not trying to start something and I'm sure I'll get down voted by just asking this... but what the heck. I do hear comments like that a lot. Could you include references to show proof tweets, rallies, Fox, etc. did incite violence? Maybe there are some (honestly I haven't looked because I really don't follow most of those, I'm too busy at work during the day and just sleep when I get home). Thanks for your thoughts.

Can you tell me how they're being silenced? Supporting Donald Trump is not the same as inciting violence against the state, so it should be clear to you that punitive reactions against those who aimed to incite violence against the state can only be taken as an action against supporters of Donald Trump if you think supporting Donald Trump is the same as supporting violence against the state.
