There's a really good paper that somewhat formalizes this: https://www.usenix.org/system/files/conference/hotos15/hotos...

Haven't read the article yet, but these slides (from HOTOS 2015) are beautiful: [PDF] https://www.usenix.org/sites/default/files/conference/protec...

That article is https://www.usenix.org/conference/hotos15/workshop-program/p...

Excellent link, thanks!

One of the linked papers[1] in that article is highly recommended.

I found a PDF version for those interested: http://conferences.sigcomm.org/imc/2015/papers/p445.pdf

An older presentation on this at USENIX (2016): https://www.usenix.org/conference/osdi16/technical-sessions/...

And here's the project page (at Yale): https://flint.cs.yale.edu/certikos/

If you’ve worked in the systems space, the Flash HTTPD paper is a classic: https://www.usenix.org/legacy/events/usenix99/full_papers/pa...

Paper has it https://www.usenix.org/system/files/atc20-conway.pdf but yeah if you check out list of limitations looks more like a research proj at this stage. Pretty interesting architecture overall though

I happen to have the troff source for some version of the XFS usenix paper as I was a reviewer (I think, maybe it was that I formatted it because I was troff nerd).

Any it's here: http://mcvoy.com/lm/papers/xfs.pdf
