I think this is very relevant: I would personally avoid applying for a position in a company with a very problematic product.

You don't want to work for a company that operates that way anyway, if you can avoid it.

Yes.... And I would choose NOT to apply to such a company, because F them.

Personally I wouldn't want to work at a company like that

I'd be happy to not take a job with a company like that.

I wouldn't want to work at a company with controversial business practices and "screw you we do what we want" attitude towards their customers, no matter what a great environment is inside.

Better not to work for such companies.

I could work for a company where my reaction to the product was "meh, whatever." But I doubt I'd work for a company whose product is something that I find morally reprehensible or something that I think is just absolute crap.

And you probably don’t want to work for a company that does that anyway

Good way to identify which companies you shouldn't work for, I guess.

I tell everyone I can to avoid them, just based on my own personal experience. It was by far the worst process of any company I interviewed with.

Yes. Several companies have so an bad reputation that i would never work for them.

Well, no specifics, but any company responsible for creating malware, or selling software to totalitarian regimes for enforcing unjust laws against the public would be places I'd never work for.

Probably any operating in the tobacco industry too, though other 'vices' wouldn't be off the list there.

I think their products suck and are sleazy. I don’t think I’ll ever be in a position where I have the opportunity, and I’d work if I was starving, but I don’t want to work for a company that makes bad products as a result of a bad philosophy.

It’s nice to be a programmer and have options but I wouldn’t work with a company that makes such invasive software.

I don't know if that makes a company to avoid, but that's certainly a good point of awareness to raise.

Can you share more on why it's a bad place to work?

They seem to be in a hot area now - consumer products data.

Which company is that? Just to know where not to apply.

It's good to see which companies you shouldn't work for.

Neat, a list of companies for me to avoid next time I'm looking for a job.

I'd never say never. If the choice is between working for a bad company or starving and becoming homeless I'd choose the former. Companies I avoid working for include casino and online gambling sites and companies in the fossil fuel industry.
