"Fake news" is a symptom of consumer ignorance, and beneficial for facilitating monopolization.

Anything someone doesn't like can be considered "fake news".

"Fake news" is a brilliantly positioned term that is meant to imply that somehow mainstream media is not mostly fake.

Fake news is news that is fake -- aka entirely fabricated with no basis in reality. "13 Obama supporters arrested for terrorist plot"-- boom, just made that up. That's fake news. Anything with a basis in reality is not.

Fact: 99% of "fake news website" classifications are in fact false.

like CNN, you don't get to define fake news. Fake news is as simple as it sounds: articles that are factually incorrect. Sadly, from random images to all major media, everyone is guilty of it.

At one point "fake news" meant something concrete, referring to throwaway blogs masquerading as actual news organizations that don't exist.
