The Daily Stormer is literally named after a Nazi propaganda newspaper[1]. Describing the web site's viewpoint as "Nazi" or "fascist" isn't even an insult -- it's a plain fact.
Oh, no. I'm not having that. The Daily Stormer is absolutely, actual, non-metaphorical Nazis.
Here's the first paragraph of the wikipedia entry:
The Daily Stormer is an American neo-Nazi, white supremacist, and Holocaust denial commentary and message board website that advocates for the genocide of Jews.[2][3][4][5] It considers itself a part of the alt-right movement.[6] Its editor, Andrew Anglin, founded it on July 4, 2013, as a faster-paced replacement for his previous website Total Fascism. The website also publishes its content in Spain and Latin America, Italy and Greece.
"Nazi" is closely associated to the Holocaust, but you don't have to have killed someone to be a Nazi.
From Wikipedia:
Nazism is a form of fascism and showed that ideology's disdain for liberal democracy and the parliamentary system, but also incorporated fervent antisemitism, scientific racism, and eugenics into its creed.
From that definition, Daily Stormer certainly was home to Nazi's, perhaps more appropriately "Neo-Nazi"
The Daily Stormer is not a 'debate' site. The owner/operator explicitly calls for war. I get you like the universal free speech idea but there isn't a valid form of Nazism that's A-OK once you get over the genocidal bits.
A publication that chooses the name The DailyStormer clearly wants people to think that it is by and for Nazis. We executed the publisher of the newspaper whose name it echoes [1] after the Nuremberg trials.
You do know The Daily Stormer is a far-right neo-Nazi, white supremacist, and Holocaust denial commentary and message board website that advocates for the genocide of Jews, right?
You are arguing Weev, the Daily Stormer, and the people who call themselves Neo Nazis ... are not?
Do you have any proof their proclamation they are neo nazis is a lie?
You are aware it is literally named after a Nazi tabloid:
The Daily Stormer is named for the Nazi tabloid Der Stürmer, known for its antisemitic caricatures. This 1934 billboard for Der Stürmer reads "With Der Stürmer against Judea. The Jews are our misfortune".
I think it wasn't made clear that I was referring to the daily stormer in the example I have given, I was reluctant to give out a name. It is very true that there are at least some differences between "classical" national socialists and neo-nazis.
I just wanted to point out that I actually visited the site once and it was ridiculous from top to bottom without any significant amount of users (per page rank). They were spectacularly banned which just seems to be like upgrading the position of North Korea. Something you might want to avoid. I believe it is worth thinking about it.
> My advice is to not follow practices which might mistakenly get you labeled as a Nazi sympathizer.
Me being a bit non-conformist from time to time is actually pretty useful against ideologies like nazism. Guilt by association is a different story however. But you are correct, let us be more self critical about that.
For those who downvote me: so you're actually believing I call "anyone I don't like" a Nazi? How fucking pathetic is that? And no I don't care about the votes, I just want you to stop and realize how incredibly dumb that is. This is a kindergarten level of discourse on a subject that ranks amongst the most important that even exist.
That is a ridiculous claim, I honestly can't imagine how anyone could make that in good faith. The website is named after a Nazi tabloid that was so virulent its publisher was executed at Nuremberg. The website's style guide for guest writers talks about the importance of "gassing kikes". If a website that glorifies Adolf Hitler, fascism, and genocide isn't enough to be considered neo-Nazi, then what is?
The problem with this argument is that everybody can be called a Nazi. The only people who're using the word "Nazi" to describe "Breitbart" seriously are those who completely disrespect the millions of actual victims of the Nazi regime.
