>“The agreement — signed by Amy Dacey, the former CEO of the DNC, and [Clinton campaign manager] Robby Mook with a copy to [Clinton campaign counsel] Marc Elias— specified that in exchange for raising money and investing in the DNC, Hillary would control the party’s finances, strategy, and all the money raised,” Brazile wrote in the story under the headline “Inside Hillary Clinton’s Secret Takeover of the DNC.”
>Brazile added of the deal: “[Clinton’s] campaign had the right of refusal of who would be the party communications director, and it would make final decisions on all the other staff. The DNC also was required to consult with the campaign about all other staffing, budgeting, data, analytics, and mailings.”
The head of the DNC was already fired from CNN for directly colluding with Hillary Clinton (she gave HRC questions for the democratic debates ahead of time).
I have no idea how Bernie still supports her. She literally cheated against him to get the nomination.
This is not speculation. It's direct evidence of corruption in the DNC (and it revolves around guess who---Hillary Clinton).
Here is enough background information [0] [1] [2] [3] quoted directly from people involved that should get you started. Unless Warren, Brazile, DWS and others are all wrong with their statements about it.
> In her new book, former party chairwoman Donna Brazile calls out the Clinton camp for the "unethical" arrangement it had with the Democratic National Committee
An arrangement that directly lead to DWS stepping down in the first place.
You mean Brazile, the one who leaked town hall questions ahead of time to Clinton?
edit: I'm not a Bernie supporter so it doesn't really bother me, I just found it amusing that you're quoting Donna Brazile here. Who was responsible for one of the clear, actual offenses against Bernie in 2016 for which she was forced to resign from CNN only to be rewarded with being head of the DNC. Well if she says everything was fine, I guess I better reconsider my sources...
I think it was a bit more than what you describe, based on what the former chair of the DNC, Donna Brazile, wrote in her book:
“The agreement — signed by Amy Dacey, the former CEO of the DNC, and [Clinton campaign manager] Robby Mook with a copy to [Clinton campaign counsel] Marc Elias— specified that in exchange for raising money and investing in the DNC, Hillary would control the party’s finances, strategy, and all the money raised,”
“[Clinton’s] campaign had the right of refusal of who would be the party communications director, and it would make final decisions on all the other staff. The DNC also was required to consult with the campaign about all other staffing, budgeting, data, analytics, and mailings.”
We found out about this thanks to Guccifer, and to a lot of people what the DNC did was a big deal.
My original point was that everyone is trying to pull a fast one over on the American public, not just the Russian's. Republican's also, in case you are offended that we are talking about Democrats at the moment.
She also had the financial fate of the DNC in her hands, and, as early as 2015, had a secret agreement giving her power of the party's finances, strategy, and all the money raised. Additionally, as per Donna Brazile: "Her campaign had the right of refusal of who would be the party communications director, and it would make final decisions on all the other staff."
You're right; however, Brazile was not the DNC chair at the time she did that (not until July), so she would have been allowed to help one candidate over another without it being the DNC rigging anything. Feeding Clinton questions is still bad but not an indication that the DNC rigged the primary against Sanders.
> The agreement—signed by Amy Dacey, the former CEO of the DNC, and Robby Mook with a copy to Marc Elias—specified that in exchange for raising money and investing in the DNC, Hillary would control the party’s finances, strategy, and all the money raised. It was already known, since Politico broke the story, that the Hillary Victory Fund was "essentially... money laundering," but I don't believe that there was any public information that indisputably showed that the Clinton campaign was controlling the DNC throughout the primaries. It was widely suspected, obviously, but this new information from Donna Brazile seems to show that there was actually a formal agreement in place.
Hillary rigged the DNC and tried to force herself on the American people, essentially leaving them with very little choice. I blame her for Trump more than anyone else.
There was a lawsuit against the DNC for their actions, unfortunately they were able to get the lawsuit dismissed by successfully arguing that they were within their rights to internally choose their own candidate regardless of their own election systems.
It wasn't merely bad luck, nor was it the will of the people. Rather than the DNC machine working to find which candidate the Democratic party voters at large preferred, they actively worked against Sanders; it was a machine to elect Clinton, not a machine to enact the will of the Democrats (the people, not the party's inner circle).
I doubt they learned anything at all from their failure to get Clinton elected, though. I don't know that Sanders could have won the general election, but arguably the DNC's sabotage of the Sanders campaign and their subsequent failure to win the general election (with probably Russian interference) has and will continue to cost us dearly, now that we have lost much good faith in our international relations.
Hillary and the DNC also worked to undermine Sanders, though he had far, far better polling vs Trump than Hillary did.
At that time, Hillary was the second most disliked politician in the country. Only Trump was lower. Bernie was the most liked. By a lot.
So again - the second-most hated politician in America worked with the DNC to attack the most popular politician, while making sure that Trump got as much attention as possible...
...And you blame Wikileaks for Trump winning. You really see no problem with this?
> .. did trigger a wave of corruption getting flushed out of the DNC
Sadly, it resulted in only a shuffle of players around the board. Wasserman-Schultz has plenty of congressional committee and leadership appointments. Donna Brazile was rewarded with Wasserman-Schultz's old gig at the helm of the DNC for leaking debate questions to Clinton
How does claims that Hilary's takeover of the DNC to ensure her position as the Democratic candidate relate to a volunteer lying to the FBI or a guy who laundered a bunch of money over 7 years ago?
