In another sense it's quite beautiful though, it encourages me to visit more frequently before the titles begin to decay into things I wouldn't click on.
I love these kinds of sites, and they always leave an impression on me, even when I only spend a day or two lurking the recent posts. Especially ones designed for niche interests such as old and long-dead games.
I genuinely think you should feel proud for making the world just a little bit better and more like it's ideal self
Navigating these sites feels like exploring a labyrinth. I feel like I can spend an hour on those pages, clicking all the hyperlinks, trying to consume all the content it has to offer
I like the site in general for its dedication to Hard Art. I used to visit at least weekly some ten years ago just to inhale a little bit of that European-tinged creativity. I'm happy to see it make the front page of HN. I should return to visiting more often.
Yea i also used to enjoy it more when i believed it to be literally "all" - as far as i can tell it's an alternate front page. My wife and i have different /r/all's for example, meaning they seem to rank links similarly to your subscribed frontpage.
The web is far more interesting to me when not curated for what something thinks i want.
I agree, I use it to look at paintings and to blog about painters I am researching and it’s wonderful the depth and breadth of content available on so many subjects. My feed is overflowing and I’ve only skimmed the surface.
I think it shows how much low impact content we consume constantly - where the quality outside of superficial appearance doesn't really matter. Images with obvious flaws, text with factual/logical mistakes - as long as it looks right on the first glance - it's passable in a lot of places.
Just made me more aware of how bulshit is the norm and not the exception.
This collection of fairytales is beautiful but, in general, I want to say that this website is full of gems. It's an example of how I'd like the web to be: accessible, full of knowledge, independent, with personality.
