I'm not sure it's more successful yet.

It doesn't really look like a roaring success as of now.

I agree, I don't think it will be very successful...

It won't take long to reach the surface but I don't think we'll get the news of whether it was successful or not for some time...

It might be a bit early to claim success though. We're still basically waiting for some mainstream well-regarded adoptions and use-cases.

Not to say it's any less exciting in regards to it's potential. But it's important to keep expectations balanced by present outcomes.

Yeah, it's slowly and steadily coming along. But it seemed at a certain point a few years back that there were people beating the hype drum, and nothing much seems to have come of it: the slow steady growth continues.

I'm personally holding out some hope that it'll eventually live up to its marketing claims - which means that I'm interested in seeing whether or not it has progressed in that direction in the last 3 years.

Sounds like it will probably be a breakout success then. Most things that are wildly successful have "it's not going to work" opposition. Then it's rationalized after the fact when it does.

I have been expecting it to do well for several years already. Not really, but I guess you make my point.

That's hard to speculate on. It might not have. But at the same time, I'd like to think that if a service is revolutionary/unique enough, it will gradually get some traction.

There is a lot of hype and no industry penetration so far. Things may change certainly, and it's not the worst thing to happen.

Possibly not, but is this thing a sales success? I haven't seen any compelling positive discussions of it yet.

It's gonna be success, but I bet maybe 2nd to 3rd iteration is when they will dominate.

Says you? It's hard/to early to tell ofcourse, but currently it looks like it's stagnating. https://insights.stackoverflow.com/trends?tags=elixir

Goof point, But I think this barely means it has potential, or possibly commerciality, it still doesn't mean guarantee of success.

If it hasn't gone live yet then it is perhaps just a wee bit early to be treating it as a success!

Let's wait and see. So far it has been below expectations.

Getting any traction yet?

I'd call it a successful experiment that is soon over.

I mentioned it only based on what I had heard from my own coworkers and such. Most of the data I'm looking up now show it being a moderate success commercially, albeit with declining profits. My point remains, though, as I don't think the majority of the comments made about it at the time of unveiling were predicting "moderate success".
