Leaving Los Angeles.

He moved to LA.

Leaving LA for exactly this reason.

Not just because of the time. But because there is hardly anywhere to live that isn't filled with cars AND walkable.

It's nice that the city has become a lot more walkable - but it's not that enjoyable walking alongside what is basically a highway - I.E. Hollywood, Sunset, and Santa Monica Blvd.

It's such a shame that the city with some of the best weather in the country, and that would otherwise be great for biking, is the city with one of the strongest car cultures in the world.

You might be right about that. I left LA after graduating.

Why are you leaving Houston for LA? I have a similar option.

Los Angeles.

I'm in Los Angeles.

I’m moving out of LA and this post highlights why. Yep those places are great. In a typical Angelenos year they’ll see maybe one of them. None of those things are near each other. The ones that are sort of close are in reality an hour+ apart because of traffic.

I have friends scattered throughout the city and we never see each other. Even the ones who live just a few miles away don’t want to leave their neighborhoods ever because.... traffic.

My dream job is in LA. I love the idea of LA, just don’t like living here. That’s just me tho, lots of people do really love it :)

> heading to L.A. in March

My usual suggestion to my Oakland bound artist friends is to move to Los Angeles.

This person should be driven to somewhere that's not a craphole like LA.

Los Angeles, California

We're in LA.

Los Angeles, California.

Having lived in and now moved out of LA, I can't really think of anything that would make me want to go back. The air quality is an issue, as are the terrible commutes (which can only be avoided by living within a few miles of where you work — not easy when more than one person in the household works).

Los Angeles, CA

I'm in Los Angeles, where it is a factor.

Well that, and not wanting to live in L.A..
