Well, that's quite unfair. JavaScript is also used for creating interactive web applications - not just tracking users. Really your attitude comes off unnecessarily aggressive.
I'm starting to feel like no-javascript-guy is some type of HN novelty account. Seriously man, not a single person here cares that you don't use javascript. Move on.
Firstly javascript has been forced on us by the browser manufacturers. Unlike every other platform we developers use we have no choice at all. It's actually disgraceful.
Secondly, it's not even the main thrust of the article, it's a side comment and a factually correct one. Why do we all have to suffer javascript in silence? Let us moan about it if we want.
I don't hate javascript for its quirks or implementation details, I hate what it has done to the experience of browsing the web, and now what it is doing to desktop software.
