I prefer the unrestored version of the images. They feel more real for some reason.

True...

I prefer this pic I edited:

Over the original...

(Seriously, I prefer the more surreal version of pics I take some times, over the original.

I took that pic of hearst castle, and the original was rather bland, some detail too dark, some washed out, it was crooked etc...

I edited it to this, and I prefer this version over the original.

I also make most pics of myself in Black and White... I prefer B&W over color.)

At least they are embedded in images.

Care to share a source so we can judge for ourselves whether those pictures are discomfiting?

I would enjoy the site more without ridiculous pictures.

This is an interesting final opinion. Can you explain your reasoning? I’d like to understand more about why you dislike this?

This idea of altering images has always confused me. When I was a kid, I got a scanner and a printer. The first thing I did was take a picture of a Battletech Griffin 55 ton battlemech (a giant war robot) and replaced the robot head with that of my mom, titling it “Grifmom.” I thought it was awesome and she burst into tears and beat me terribly. I never understood why. And this didn’t have any nudity or offensive material, just a normal face on a robot body.

Perhaps this is related to your aversion?

I like the use of (sometimes completely inappropriate) pictures. It makes the blog post a lot more visually appealing.

Most of them are probably images.

Would love to see this without cherrypicked images.

That is why I suggested to use the audio version instead of the images, this is what I always do - I never look at those pictures.

Little turns me off more than artifacty images without alt tags.

Some people enjoy looking at images more than creating them.

I'm with you. I would hate to see these images all over the place -many are just unpleasant to see.

The cover image generated for the cosmopolitan cover is stunning at first but after seeing it a few times it begins to feel uncomfortable to look at. The uncanny valley is alive and well in many of these images.

I'm pretty sure some of them are just images

Better than the use of "porn" on sites like reddit to signify fancy photos.

Looks like their own photos on the landing page are obfuscated.

I found this warning clear enough.

I think it's a good thing to include these images, we've become too used to content moderation that we're desensitized to a lot of the atrocities that are still happening daily around the world.

The thumbnails are fine imo.

Heh. I don't really consume images. I just view them.
