Also note the 53-degree FOV they quote is for the diagonal angle!
In all their press releases they're comically cagey about giving actual resolution and angle info for the display, which makes me distrust them.
Sorry, I made a mistake, I accidentally typed FOV, when I meant IPD. The IPD they clame for this product has a range of 58-72mm, which is very wide when comparing the competition. They made no claim of FOV, from what I've seen, for the glasses, ~20 degrees was for the Monocle.
If the FoV is less then it drives home that the pixel per degree is even higher!
This is a closed face VR headset with presumably more traditional screens and lenses and unlike a Hololens or MagicLeap. The device sounds closer to VR headsets like the Vive and Quest, which are mostly around 90-110 degrees.
exactly. I see it as well in multiple other spots as well.
eg:
1. 05 49 04.008 +01 09 47.27
FoV: 1.3° X 2.2°
2. 05 44 35.074 +01 52 52.36
FoV: 3.4° X 5.9°
3. 06 37 17.795 -47 18 20.97
FoV: 1.4° X 2.4°
Lumus has 70 degrees FOV, but due to yield difficulties in manufacturing. They haven't made anything significant for production so far.
But this is basically the future. It is like early stages of the mobile cameras. Specs are not enough to match expectations. But core concept is solid.
