Same as I with a 7. Reachability is quite well worked out.

That's great to hear. I updated my post to point out my experience is only up to and including the 7.

How does it feel performance wise to the 7T?

Just gone from a 7 to an 11. It’s weird, if I didn’t know the history I’d say this device feels older.

It’s bigger, fatter and heavier with a cheaper feeling finish. The 7 feels positively elegant if you hold one after the other.

And apart from the slight camera improvements the performance feels identical.

ive got a 7+ and it’s amazing. if youre at all tempted, go for it.

Same with an 8+, switched from a 6, so much better.

I ordered one. I have a 6 and predict it will be tremendously satisfying in comparison. Like the Touchbar, I just couldn't get over the Notch. But I realize I might be an outlier.

Compared to Android, where it's hard to get anything below 6.2" it's very compact.

I just got myself a 7 and I couldn't be happier. It's cheap, pretty, more than good enough (the camera software on my Moto G3 was better :-( ).

All that, but what really convinced me was the Android One software. The assurance software will be updated and there won't be any crapware talking up space is awesome.

Always preferred the 9 series, the screen on the 7s was just a bit too small. My 901 is still going strong.

I have a V7 and it’s excellent. Really well thought out. Feels a little like if Apple made a vacuum cleaner.

The specs are nearly identical to the Galaxy S/Captivate etc.

For me, there's enough from the Series 4 to 7 to make it worth upgrading.

Got one free last week, and for me 7" is the perfect size for typing in landscape mode. I actually quite like the Amazonized android too for the most part. Side-loading apps is a bit of a hassle, but at least you can install any android app. I put Dolhpin HD on it, runs fine. It's also not sluggish at all (maybe they've pushed an update since the early reviews?). It's much zippier than my LG revolution. Some apps seem to run way smoother than on my phone (e.g. TuneIn Radio has been flawless so far). Battery life is good. The easy to accidentally press power button at the "bottom" (using it upside down can actually occasionally be an issue for some apps that only run in one mode), and lack of a SD slot is really dumb. I'd still buy one for $200.

Screen res/size, 3D (aka force) touch, front camera (5 vs 1.2MP), slightly bigger battery.

Everyone complains about the notch, but what about the lack of a button? That is what made me choose an 8.

What do you practically use the extra speed for?

I've got a 7+ and frankly I'm struggling to see what more I could want. So probably going to skip a generation.

I decided to upgrade to the 8+ from a 6 and it hits nearly all my points except for the slight negative that the form-factor is relatively the same (irrespective of size).

It's a great upgrade so far. The UI is snappy quick, the cameras on the back take amazing photos due to one having both OIS and digital stabilization, and the second also having digital stabilization. The resolution still looks good, etc.

I'm pleased with not needing to wait for the X, especially with the (supposedly) low supply at launch.

That hasn't been my experience at all. If anything, they are more userfriendly than other phones I have used. One thing in particular that is very nice is that everything is accessible on the larger screen sizes, action centers, call logs, messages, everything is designed to be accessible when holding your phone with one hand without having to awkwardly reach the top.
