The new rendering engine is not on yet.

I couldn't find any mention of rendering engine or capabilities and plugin system.

This isn't a new standard. This is a new rendering engine which implements existing standards.

There has been a renderer for a long time, but you can't play the game with it.

What rendering engine are you using?

Supporting this is apparently requires major changes to their rendering engine so probably won't be added until at least version 3.1 or 4.

Why are you saying this is late? The specification is a draft, the only other rendering engine to support it is Blink, and Firefox isn’t going to implement the full spec.

its rendering engine hasn't been completely re-written though. They've been re-writing parts of it piece by piece.

can't wait for someone to implement a rendering engine on top of this :-)

Is this a new rendering engine or a new browser chrome around an existing engine?

We are working on a new renderer that started out life as a way of addressing the specific corner cases that can lead to this. It will be released in early 2021.

What rendering engine is this using?

So, you're not using any of the rendering parts?

What have they done? All I see is renderings.

Since it's their own custom renderer, they just need to write a back-end for the web (which is what they are doing)

That's the native cross platform rendering platform. Still in development.

Interesting - I had never never seen nyxt - but it doesn't seem to be a new renderer as far as I can tell? I could be wrong! I'm curious if it is though! It seems to say in the FAQ it is agnostic and currently supports a few engines as the renderer https://nyxt.atlas.engineer/faq

They call it the rendering engine

They didn't write the rendering engine. They used WebKit.

Isn't it still the IE7 rendering engine? Does it surprise anyone?

edit: this information is outdated and incorrect, my apologies. Thanks for the correction.
