Code is harder to read than write.

Code is harder to read than to write, news at 11.

who said that code is hard to write?

I said it's hard to read.

And it's probably filled with bugs.

people are frequently quite bad at writing code to be read, so actually understanding what's going on can be a mess.

People don't voluntarily read code because most code isn't readable.

It also makes the code a pain to read and maintain.

Also, code is read more often than it is written.

Sounds harder than writing your own code sometimes. Reader other people's (or machines') code is not easy at all.

Makes sense, reading someone else's code is generally harder than reading your own.

Code is read much more times than written, and hieroglyphs don't help.

Everyone writes unreadable code sometimes. Bad languages make it easier.

The code is not hard to read.

People write code that is hard to read.

English is a great language, but some people write stuff down in good plain English that is hard to parse. The same goes for any programming language. If you want to write code that's hard to read, that's what you will get.

Code readability trumps cleverness.

Frankly painful to read that code.

I find reading code with word wrapping nearly impossible.

It's certainly a departure for many, but any code can be hard to read depending on how it's architected and who's writing it.

I much prefer readable code.

imho modern code is in general no very readable a lot of the time.

Harder to read != worse.

I have yet to see a programmer write code that manifests an artifact as effective, adaptable, and robust as a human body.

That's an impressive amount of work to make your code harder to read!
