Hey, if you don't mind some unpredictable donation/sponsoring, you could put up a bitcoin address (and optionally XMR and/or ETH, though those latter two may be a bit more friction for you if you're not already familiar).
I have around $250 in Bitcoins (remaining) that I want to donate. So far I have donated to Wikipedia, Tor, FreeBSD and Internet Archive. I'm looking to donate to any other cause that can help technology or freedom progress.
I wanted to donate to EFF but they require "registration" which I'm not interested in.
So basically, I'm looking to donate to:
1. Anything. As long as it benefits people/humanity in a non-profit way.
2. Accepts Bitcoins.
3. Has a simple donation process. Preferably just their Bitcoin address to donate to.
I hope for the best for you. One suggestion to use as you see fit, the overhead on the donate is quite high - maybe you can create and list a bitcoin address you control on your blog.
How do I donate something to your cause to say thank you for the work you've already done (and for putting it online for free)? Paypal/Bitcoin would be easiest, but anything will do. :)
I wish there was a way to donate anonymously. Like a BTC(bitcoin) and/or XMR(monero) address, if you're open to figuring that part out and/or locate a forwardee who is.
To Let's Encrypt: if you guys took bitcoins as donation I would give $10 in an instant. The friction of filling out this long Paypal form is just too high for $10... http://i.imgur.com/oZZWeuG.png (And, no, I don't have a Paypal account.)
Make it easy to give, and you will receive more donations!
No one's going to donate if you just put you bitcoin wallet address. Donations need to take less than 20s and be mindless. Preferrably, just a matter of a few clicks. You might be better off with paypal; unless you're just aiming for trendy and unobtrusive, then bitcoin is fine, but I wouldn't have any expectations.
Nice. Making that PayPal email more prominent might result in higher donations. Also, have you considered accepting Bitcoin, through Coinbase or something similar?
If you could by any chance set up a BTC address more may donate because of the lower fees. I will donate via the provided page, but just something to keep in mind :-)
