I believe the post in question believes they have enough evidence to justify the actions and is speaking from a position of surprise/resignation at the state of things.
Kind if like, 'I cant believe it's come to this, but given all the evidence, it's justified."
Yes, and I'm very surprised at the number of people that are apparently falling for this narrative. It would've been unthinkable just a decade ago, it seems.
It's good to see others recognise it for what it is. It needs to be strongly pushed back.
Same. I am stunned that this apparently warrants any sort of official response, and I am doubly stunned that so many people seem to support a response of some sort.
Too many have come forward for that to be the entire explanation. Even if it were true, how is that not also horrible? Are we just accepting agent provocateurs as how things should be now?
I fully expect this to be a guy spouting stories in the hopes of getting laid.
But, it could all be true. The level of detail is pretty convincing, not something you'd make up on the spot. So I am actually happy some congress people are taking it on and would like to see a more bipartisan effort there.
So, in the case this is real, now what? (I'd also think the next step would be to uncover more before going public and letting the investigated company purge everything, which makes me lean further towards assuming this is nothing but a publicity stunt).
I recognize that this could well be a a true and legitimate coming out, but I can't help but wonder if it's government spin or effects from the abuses he's suffered for the last three years.
While I don't agree with a lot of premises of the manifesto, I can't shake off a feeling that I just witnessed something very close to a real witch hunt.
Indeed I even think the overreactions we see about this “scandal” is because media in general love to follow such catastrophic plots and spread false or enhanced news. As always.
Many articles i read don’t understand even what happened and, from here, the whole thing seems a big bluff that will shake the internet based economy and powers.
Best we can do is ignore this case and go back to our life. It’s however an interesting phenomenon under many points of view.
I agree that that's going way too far. But I also sympathize with people and see the side of people who feel like they've lost some trust in all this after the last few years. There's a spectrum of reactions.
Not having read / watched the press brefing my first reaction to this comment was, I admit, a bit eye-rolly. Then I watched it.
If that is your reaction, seriously, go and watch it. It really is an extraordinary set of allegations. It's nine minutes long and it just gets weirder and weirder.
Yep. I can't rationally explain why I feel this way, but I feel like that might be changing a little. The #MeToo things seems like a fore-shock of sorts. Some very large names, and possibly institutions, appear to be about to tumble under their corruption.
