Antiques, beanie babies, website stocks, real estate, cryptocurrency. What are we going to do next?

I smell a market for facial prosthetics (good ones) and sunglasses. Maybe large hats.

You mean people will actually start using it to buy things rather than using it merely as a vehicle for speculation?

so someone is going to focus on building that next thing people will want; and however stupid it will be it will probably profit.

Or "envision a future" where they "sell more stuff."

Thank you!

And I think you're right, except that I am also betting that that tiny portion of the market will grow as the market becomes flooded with cheap, wrong stuff.

I think that would be an odd transition indeed.

With that said, I understand a certain apprehension with this... in a future sense.

It may lead to a time where more and more things are essentially leased. Maybe to that eventual end.

This may attract a lot of favor, cheaper things are nice. The investors are happy because of recurring revenue. In exchange however, we lose control.

There's a good metaphor I can't quite remember, but it's based around a pile of marbles. Each one alone isn't of much interest, but it's a big pile

I guess everyone is looking for new revenue streams in this market.

I think Time to Market.

it already started happening - we're all paying attention to it and I bet more than half the people here are trying to work out how to make money from it.

Ya I wonder if we’ll start seeing attempts to corner the market in PoS.

Yeah, but will that make money next month?

Didn't think so. New plan: let's rip society apart and sell it. Huge profits right now in that market.

They should and likely will sell glasses or cars or whatever new gadgets people ((will be made to) think they) need. :)

Haven't we seen enough of these?

I'm thinking punchd, Belly, LevelUp, Plink, not to mention offerings from Groupon, foursquare... They may be able to profitably acquire businesses now, but isn't it a coinflip as to who will win in the long-term?

So you're saying it is the next runaway financial success for selling stuff to people trying to keep their weight down? I'm sold, where do I invest?

I'm guessing their own 3rd party seller marketplace is next.

yes logn. I have got this suggestion a lot and I must say I never thought about these markets before. But I will definitely explore this potential.

The future is Marketplace

And those tools will become available, because apparently there is a market to sell to.

Build it and they will come. Scale it up and it will turn to gold. IPO before reality catches up.
