It's not for us to decide. If he feels younger then he should have the right to identify as younger. Scientifically there are certain biochemical changes that happen in the brain as we age and there is strong scientific evidence that some people maintain young brain chemistry even into old age. Just because he was born 70 years ago doesn't mean he's a 70 year old.

70 isn't old.

His age is showing.

70 years old? Really?

Yes, and he says: "I'm very young, I'm only 72, so we'll see." :-)

He claims to be 70 but it's been disputed widely - I don't have the energy to filter signal from noise though.

I'd argue he doesn't care about ageing because he's 51.

What till he's 75 and see if he still holds that view.

I wonder if he'll be remembered as a visionary of the age dysphoria trend: "I was born 69 years ago and identify as myself born 49 years ago."

When I was 27 I would have found offensive to be called "a 27-year-old". Which age range do you need to belong to to be taken seriously?

Because if he had been 67, he would also be referred to with a dismissive "a 67-year-old".

Well, he considers 61 his prime, so... I would consider what is young for him is relative.

He’s not that old yet, give him time.

"Is he still a member of the smarter set? Or has he aged out? If not, what is the cut off?"

Also, can we please raise the cut off if it's really young? Please?

Maybe because he’s 93?

I mean, I’m no fan of ageism, but let’s be realistic…

No disrespect, but he's just really old.

But that is more difficult than making assumptions based on his age.

I mean, he's 64. No part of him is "youthful" except his attitude.

I'm not sure about that, in 2030 he'll be 75 years old, he might have different perspective at this age.

He's 71, he's not middle aged, but yes, he should know better at his age.

Well, he is getting older.

He's 61. It pretty much is.
