No worries -- based on their names, I'd say the girl and her uncle are Finnish as well. :)

Ok, correction: Finnish-sounding names

Wow. I didn’t realize they were Finnish. I’ve grown up with so many of these in India, I used to think they were actually Indian! TIL.

Maybe that's why they are Finnish? (I kid!)

Finnish?

That's Finnish.

Finnish I think

Wow, that's a trip. Is there somewhere I can read more about this? I'll google translate it if all you got is in Finnish but I can read Swedish too.

Edit: Reverse image search tells me her name is Laukku-Leena. https://www.iltalehti.fi/kotimaa/a/b225828d-c1b1-40b5-b7b1-a...

Finnish and Estonian are really close.

I think I might be Finnish

Oh well if I made a spelling mistake that obviously invalidates my whole point. Thank you for teaching me that Finnish is a very special language -- just like the Finns -- such an amazing an unique people ;)

Uh, no, it's Finnish through and through.

The article is in Finnish, not Swedish.

It just says that the Finns are genetically closely related to Swedes and linguistically a universe apart.

Pretty cool. Special thanks for offering Finnish.

OT: Is Finland a Germanic nation? Their language isn't afaik.

Finnish

She wrote in Swedish though, not Finnish.
