Naltrexone/nalmefene works with 85% of the population, while 15% do not respond because of genetic disposition.

Of the 85% who do respond, 75% are successful in what they are attempting.

Proponents advise you to take it for the rest of your life. Naltrexone is not costly. This is your decision.

Yes, I used the Sinclair method but there are multiple therapies which use naltrexone and I don't think the Sinclair method is obviously better than any other.

It works for 95% of the population. Good enouth

Yeah. The drug probably works--but if it doesn't get to where it's supposed to be that doesn't matter. Some people pick it up better, it works for them. Most people don't absorb much at all.

I'm not questioning that it works for some, I'm just wondering how many it actually works for.

It's usually close to 40% effective but it's generally nowhere near 75%+

They've done studies, you know. They say 60% of the time, it works every time.

From what I read in this thread, the odds of it working is 2 in 7, so it's pretty likely a good portion of the commenters will say it works for them.

Works for 50-60% of patients, according to research linked from Wikipedia.

it sounds like you are saying that a non-100% efficacy is still good enough, which most folks agree with

Sorry, it wasn't intended as a stylistic comment. It just seemed you're making a recommendation about a treatment by saying that it works for all the people it works for. Would you have any estimate of what fraction of all the people who tried this fully succeed?

If it works for them.

They've done studies. 65% of the time, it works every time.

I've heard it's working for some and not for others

It's the limited efficacy for all users? Isn't it possible some users+strain pairings respond markedly better, or are their studies showing that's not true either?

Ummm, if it’s not 100% effective…

It's better than doing nothing. Even if it's only 5% effective, it may still be worth it.

I don’t know about the consensus, but it does seem to work, at least for some people.

They've done studies, you know. 60% of the time it works, every time.

So...it only works for 99% of the population?
