Malicious Life is a very well done podcast about hacking. I’d say it’s aimed at mid level of tech savviness—you won’t feel pandered to as an expert, but they’re engaging, well-explained narratives that anyone can follow and enjoy.

Same here. He does a great job of making quite technical shows very accessible, and many of the shows are just a really great story. Other particularly good episodes - The LinkedIn Incident [0], Information Monopoly [1] and OxyMonster [2]

The Stuxnet Episode (https://darknetdiaries.com/episode/29/) is one of my favorites

Darknet Diaries and Smashing Security are my two favourites, This Malicious Life is also really good

Surprised no one has mentioned https://darknetdiaries.com yet!

The podcast covers the stories of hackers, and the stories behind hacking attacks like Stuxnet. The creator comes from the cybersecurity field, so episodes don't shy away from including technical details. Each episode is well researched and very interesting. It is by far my favorite podcast.

If cybercrime interests you, you might like the "Malicious Life" podcast: http://malicious.life/

Not a novel though.

Darknet Diaries podcast had an episode about Stuxnet and a few more about other attacks that are linked to it.

Watch these in this order:

http://vimeo.com/25118844 - brief overview great animation

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CS01Hmjv1pQ - ted talk on stux

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rOwMW6agpTI&feature=youtu... detailed analysis of stuxnet

the last one is long and Bruce appears to be an arrogant prick, but it is clear - cyber war has been here for a while.

>If you haven't watched the tech talks on stuxnet and duqu, please do - super interesting.

If you or someone else has some recommendations on which ones are worth watching, please do let us know.

Thanks for the link. He's the guest on a Darknet Diaries episode too.

I enjoy The Hated One's[0] podcasts. Why do I like them? They discuss privacy and security, which is a topic I enjoy.

John Hammond - Cyber security/ethical hacking. He explains what he's doing well enough for even someone like me, with very little cybersec knowledge, to follow along and understand.

Someone else also commented Nathan Baggs, also a great explainer of what he's doing (and he hacks some fantastic old school games too).

I didn't listen to that show for a while now; but it seemed that it was the only show out there that explained in details computer security news. I remember him explaining the speculative execution exploits when they first appeared really well when they first appeared. Does the people I know who works on blue and red teams listen to him? No, they already know that stuff, and yeah he could be more up to date, but he does his researc, does his homework and is a great pedagogue.

There is a good darknet diaries episode with some more details about him.

Darknet Diaries EP 6 - Beirut Bank Job with Jayson E. Street - who: people who are interested in physical security and human factor security.

https://darknetdiaries.com/episode/6/

Darknet Diaries EP 7,8 - Manfred: Hacking Online Video Games for Fun - who: people who want to know why application security and input validation is so damn important

Darknet Diaries EP9: The Rise and Fall of Mt. Gox - who: for those who want to understand what happened with all the bitcoins in mt gox

There are many security podcasts out there but there are few that are as thrilling as the darknet diaries.

He gets a bit of (admittedly deserved) criticism on HN, but Security Now with Steve Gibson is great for anyone who is interested in security and the like.

https://computingup.com/ episode Artificial death was a good one.
