I looked at FastMail and ProtonMail. I ended up going with ProtonMail because they're in Switzerland.

I use ProtonMail and I am quite satisfied so far. Servers being in Switzerland is a huge plus in my book, compared to Gmail and fastmail which seems to be suggested so often.

Protonmail is in Switzerland.

When I initially set out to change mail providers, I considered both Fastmail and ProtonMail.

Ultimately, my decision was based on the fact that ProtonMail is a Swiss company, a country whose privacy laws are stronger than Fastmail’s country of origin, Australia.

So far I’m really happy with ProtonMail as a replacement for Gmail, as a mobile-first user. The only issue is saying “ProtonMail” to people who have never heard of it (surprisingly prone to misspelling).

Any chance you (or anyone else) has a recommendation for a provider? I'm currently on the fence between FastMail and ProtonMail.

Protonmail is Swiss, not AU. Fastmail is Australian.

Protonmail is my choice.

Or protonmail.ch, free and secure.

Fastmail, protonmail.

ProtonMail? Fastmail?

protonmail.ch

Protonmail.ch

If privacy is your main focus, you probably still want to go with Protonmail, as it's based in Geneva rather than New Jersey.

this vs protonmail.ch?

Did you consider protonmail? If so, why fastmail?

definitely protonmail for sure

What about the other alternatives, like fastmail? I mean what made you choose proton mail specifically?

If you care about your privacy, then you could consider ProtonMail as well..

Based in Switzerland and cares a lot about encryption and privacy.

I really like ProtonMail. I switched last month. Protonvpn is good too. I’ve had no problems at all.

The security/privacy stuff is what does it for me. Just knowing that they are serious about redundancy and are in a bunker in Switzerland makes it feel like a Swiss bank account with that famously Swiss sense of privacy and security. Love it.

Protonmail or fastmail are both decent.
