Particularly excited that WebSockets may have made it into Mobile Safari.

Does anyone know if mobile Safari supports websockets yet?

Hurrah WebSockets in Mobile Safari now works!!! I'm testing now on my iPad w/ Clojure+Aleph as the backend (all 14 lines of it, https://gist.github.com/710453). Evidence: http://a6.video3.blip.tv/0210004346955/Dnolen-WebSocketSuppo...

I recall reading somewhere that they were adding WebSocket support to Safari 5. ANy word on this?

Safari (finally) supports WebP.

Yeah this kind of thing is very interesting, it does look like safari supports it.

Even safari mobile supports them now (indirectly through an extension)

The mobile web experience (Safari) for this app is really remarkable.

Oh, hooray, it's mobile Safari!

It’s nice to see a bit of Safari love around here. Some sites occasionally break, but I really like the macOS/iOS integrations. SMS code autofill on desktop Safari (via Mac <-> iPhone communication) is pretty awesome.

More interesting is Mobile Safari.

Seeing a link to a gopher:// site and discovering that Safari in iOS still supports it made my day.

WebM is supported on iOS Safari now!

To be clear, Safari does now support webp.

When this is supported natively in Safari on iOS it will be interesting.

Lots of folks using Mobile Safari.

I am impressed it worked in mobile safari!

This is pretty neat, just tried it between iPhone Safari and MacOS Safari. Worked well.

Safari has supported Web Workers since Safari 4, so if they are not in Mobile Safari yet, they will almost certainly be in soon!

and Safari on iOS.
