Have you tried the Impossible burger? I've had it at some restaurants (lots of other flavors at play) and it feels like meat, and with the other flavors it tastes very similar to a burger.

I find this interesting. I tried an Impossible Burger a while ago and I didn't find it to taste like meat at all.

Funny I guess as a super meat lover I tried the Impossible burger and like it a lot even though it doesn't quite taste like beef it tastes good on it's own.

I've had the good fortune to try an Impossible Foods burger. It really does taste like meat. I'm not sure I would say it's indistinguishable from a beef burger. But I would definitely have a hard time telling it apart from a ground turkey burger. Or an ostrich burger from Fuddruckers.

This was also my experience with the Impossible Burger. It is so good at tasting like meat that it is crazy.

I look forward to trying a Beyond Meat burger / sandwich sometime.

I've tried the impossible burger on a friend's recommendation (fat burger).

He overblown it.

It's good. But it doesn't taste like meat and the texture isn't close, only the seared like texture works the inner is different. The flavor is off. I want to say the fat of meat gives it that good taste which impossible burger does not have.

You should give the Impossible Burger a try as well, it's even more meat-like and has a great taste. Both burgers recently announced 2.0 versions of their products so there's a lot of excitement in the field of plant-based meat.

Therefore, Impossible Burger is not meat. But it tastes close enough right?

which one did you try? impossible burger was great for me.

I really don't get how people think impossible burger tastes like meat. It has the texture of a lentil patty with blood flavoring added.

Impossible burgers are ridiculously close to meat and worth a try. Beyond Burgers are more noticeably different than meat.

Try the impossible burger

Isn't this just a criticism of existing meat-alike products? Or have you tried impossible burger and found it not tasty?

Impossible Burgers are the best-tasting non-meat burgers I've had.

It is a criticism of existing products, I have not tried an impossible burger and would be very excited to find that it tastes as good as meat.

Impossible burgers are an order of magnitude better tasting than any other meat replacement I've tried. Beyond burgers are hilariously worse.

I had the same experience. I have tried both the impossible and beyond meat burgers and ended up not being able to finish them as I really didn't like the taste.

I had high hopes because I had watched these TV segments where they were eating them and saying how it tastes like a burger. But not for me.

I actually like Impossible Burger. It doesn't take like a burger exactly, but it tastes good. And if you screw up an Impossible burger, it doesn't taste nearly as bad as a screwed up beef burger, which gets as dry as leather.

FWIW I tried an Impossible Food burger and was also impressed. I cooked it without condiments and found it a little nutty but definitely in the same category as meat.

I've had the Impossible Burger at a restaurant as well as the Beyond Burger at Epic Burger. I'm not sure which tastes more like meat, but the Beyond Burger is far tastier. I sometimes daydream about that sandwich.
