>> “If Henry Ford had asked people what they wanted, they would have told him faster horses”

I don't buy that, many people probably would have said that they wanted a horse that doesn't poop

sort by: page size:

"If I had asked people what they wanted, they would have said faster horses". (Not) Henry Ford. The sentiment still applies.

Or are you saying that already?

> Isn’t that back to the Fordian “faster horse”, though?

The Fordian "faster horse" doesn't have much merit, though. What customers wanted was a faster cart. That's also exactly what they got.

What they wanted out of horses was for them to be easier to store, and cheaper and less labor intensive to maintain. They got bicycles and motorcycles.

“If I had asked people what they wanted, they would have said faster horses.” (sometimes attributed to Henry Ford)

Henry Ford: "If I had asked people what they wanted, they would have said faster horses." (probably misattributed, but fitting nonetheless)

Reminds of a quote (falsely?) attributed to Henry Ford.

“If I had asked people what they wanted, they would have said faster horses.”

"If I had asked people what they wanted, they would have said faster horses."; whether Henry Ford truly said that or not is immaterial as the quote itself is the point I was trying to make.

And your comment really rather touches on it.

Peoples' needs aren't as profitable -- not until what they need also becomes what they want.

“If I had asked people what they wanted, they would have said faster horses.”

-- Henry Ford.

Insert mis-attributed Henry Ford quote about customers wanting faster horses

"If I had asked people what they wanted, they would have said faster horses." - Henry Ford

Obligatory Henry Ford quote: "If I had asked people what they wanted, they would have said faster horses."

“If I had asked people what they wanted, they would have said faster horses.” -- Henry Ford (purportedly)

"If id asked people what they wanted, they would have asked for a faster horse." -Henry Ford

Stop arguing for faster horses just because cars don't run on oats and hay.

And you have that famous quote from Henry Ford that may or may not have been spoken by him:

"If I had asked people what they wanted, they would have said faster horses."

Henry Ford said something along the lines of "people just wanting a faster horse".

'If I had asked people what they wanted, they would have said faster horses.' - Henry Ford

Reminds me of the (supposed) Henry Ford quote “If I had asked people what they want, they’d have said a faster horse”.

“If I had asked people what they wanted, they would have said faster horses.” -- probably by Ford.

Similar quote attributed to Henry Ford - "if I asked my customers what they wanted, they would have said a faster horse"

“If I had asked people what they wanted, they would have said faster horses.” Henry Ford
