After loving Google for years, I've finally migrated over to using Firefox and DDG as my primary daily browser. Slightly painful but I'm getting used to it. I recommend giving it a try.
I have been mainly using Firefox for the last 3 months on desktop, and for over a year on phone - and it's amazing. Highly recommend it. I even uninstalled Chrome now on my main machine- sometimes you run into what appears "Chrome optimized" sites, like back in IE6 days but its rare.
I was blown away by Firefox Focus as well. I ended up making it the default browser, so its used when I read an article on HackerNews, Reddit, Twitter, etc. But when I need the "logged in" experience - autofill passwords, bookmarks, cookies, etc. - I launch Chrome. Best of both worlds!
FF is great! The only stopper for me to uninstall chrome is google meets. Background blur only works occasionally on FF but it has gotten a lot better this year.
i use chrome because firefox mobile is so slow on my iphone 5s and i like to sync tabs between mobile and desktop, so chrome on mobile means i have to use it on desktop too
I've used FF every day for the last year or so on my MBP since they started making all of the usability improvements. Works as good as if not better than Chrome with tons of add-ons installed. uBlock Origin, Privacy Badger, etc. Switched my default search engine to DDG. Really nice to see these companies like Apple, Firefox, and DDG care about their consumers.
I made the same switch about a year ago now. Firefox feels so much better than it did when Chrome first appeared. I also now have an Android tablet, and Firefox on Android has come on leaps and bounds since it was first released; the tab syncing feature it shares with the desktop is fantastic and I haven't even launched Chrome on my tablet since I got it.
