I live in France, and I must say I am offended by your comment!

People burning cars and destroying property are not yellow vests, they are antifa groups and their job is to bring chaos to discredit the yellow vests movement.

You keep bringing up the French, but the yellow vests are not antifa.

One could argue that if you have nice things (e.g. nice car, upscale shop windows) certain groups that are assumed under the antifa umbrella would not hesitate to set fire to your car as a protest against capitalism and the power gradients it strengthens. Examplary incidents are G20 protests in Germany.

Source for what ? antifa riots ? in france antifa destroys property and engages with the police on a pretty regular basis in several cities, it's pretty much become a sport for spoiled above-average kids - despite that it would seem otherwise.

are you suggesting it's /pol/-type Trump supporters burning free speech signs, or am I misreading your comment? Because it's antifa members and black-bloc anarchists that are doing that.

For french antifas, a bus stop or a mcdonalds is a violent fascist then.

Interpreting @glaurent's tweet as describing self defense is a stretch in my opinion.

we have an "antifa" movement in France (reacting to our
rising far right), and they're often just as violent :-(

Antifa torches cars. Neo-nazis torch asylum-seekers' hostels.

The public is more concerned with antifa because many people own a car but who owns an asylum-seeker?

Right wing groups posing as antifa. Happens in Europe too.

No, is because the antifa-blm marxist are setting the fires. Direct and coordinated arson. Time to pay attention.

For me the most interesting thing is when the Anfifa and the Alt-right actually join together to attack the state in some cases.

As an example, the Yellow Vest movement where both extremes go around destroying public property and engaging in violence against the moderates.

The people that hold the antifa flags are almost always the ones that also let of fireworks and start fires at protests.

Which is always fun, unless its your protest.

The arson and vandalism has been caused by right wing white nationalists.

edit: downvote all you want, racists, it’s true.

If that paragraph is not suggesting the far-right may be responsible, why does it refer to their "bitter protests" immediately after the theory that an "angry underclass" are burning cars?

Why even mention the far-right at all, if nobody is suggesting they have something to do with these crimes?

Oh please. There is now over 100 days of videos of them attacking federal buildings and lighting the fucking mayor’s condo building on fire. The lasers they are shining into police eyes are powerful enough to ignite a piece of paper. That’s instant permanent eye damage if you get hit. You either have no idea what is actually going on or you’re spreading propaganda. This is a violent unhinged mob of proud antifa anarchists (and before some ignorant person says antifa is “an idea”, Portland antifa has their own website and wikipedia article - look up Rose City Antifa). Knock it off. They openly espouse their beliefs that property should be destroyed and that anyone opposing them is fair game for violence.

Ah, classic. So this is actually all just shitposting and looking for ideological battle then.

The “antifascists” literally wore the mark themselves while committing upwards of a billion dollars of property damage over the course of a year+ of riots.

But seriously, please just take it elsewhere. Your innuendo is borderline if not actual libel.

The latest evidence for my assertion is the nationwide looting and arson orchestrated by Antifa.

As somebody who protested AGAINST neo-nazis but was constantly put in harm's way because antifa decided their best course of action was open violence against the police (while largely ignoring the actual neo-nazis that were present, curiously enough), and maybe burning some shit, with me in the middle of stone-throwing antifas and police, I welcome antifa going down in flames. To me, who had the displeasure of observing antifa in action again and again, they are immature violent hooligans looking for trouble wherever they can find it and not much else.

Interestingly many black protesters have attacked Antifa members for perpetuating violence, including one group who dragged a man dressed in Black Bloc attire to police.

There are people who are using the current events as an excuse to sow division and chaos, and Antifa groups are absolutely included.

Same thing in Portland. People think Antifa burned the city to the ground.
