Amusing to me that "scooters" gets the number two slot here.

That's what “scooter” means in the UK too.

> It’s always struck me as odd that scooters, with their pragmatic step-through design and fogeyish upright seating position, so easily outscore motorbikes when it comes to pure panache. They pack more sass and sex appeal into their dinky two-wheel frames than almost any other vehicle

That's a very bold statement.

"So, a scooter?"

Yeah it was funny. It hit so far below the hype expectations, many (myself included) thought the Segway wasn't even "IT", expecting the real announcement to come later.

Motorcycle and scooters are a thing.

It’s indeed a kind of person who tend to ride scooters....

We talking about cars or scooters? :D

I think we have to consider the new wave of two-wheeled balancing scooters as an extension of the Segway, and they're increasing in popularly.

Aren't scooters those two wheeled skate things with handles?

> Electric scooters, or more generically Personal Mobility Devices (PMDs)

Geez, they're scooters.

Not counting e-bikes and scooters=]…

I believe we call that a scooter in English. Had to look it up.

Don't forget electric scooters!

Scooters are heaven sent.

The scooters were dorky then, too

I’ve ridden a Segway and a scooter and the scooter is MUCH more fun for me. The Segway is like “whoa this is cool” but the score is like “Wheeeee!” Makes me feel 5 years old again.

What about electric scooters? They seem pretty popular at the moment.

You forgot about the car eyesores, which outnumber scooter on a 20:1 scale when they were out in full force.

Scoot's slang for "motorcycle" in some crowds too. I agree it's quite generic from the get-go.

I've always seen the terms kick-scooter and motor-scooter to disambiguate the later two.
