Fwiw, over the many years of trying it, I have never experienced Duck Duck Go search results to be anything but unusably poor quality unless I specify the google search engine, which, IMHO, is quixotic.
Yes. I tried duck duck go 10 years ago when I first heard about it, and decided it wasn't anywhere near as good as google. A few months back I was convinced to try it again, and surprise, it is just as good as google.
I recently did a few queries where I didn't find anything so I tried google and it got the same irrelevant results (as a category, not the same pages)
I tried using DuckDyckGo (lol) for a few weeks recently, but its results are just as bad or worse than Google's are usually. It's the same problem of endless worthless listicle noise.
I switched to duck duck go recently and for me it is good enough, when I feel I get bad results or not what I need I search with !g and for my surprise google returns same results most of the time. It would be good to have more duck duck go like sites/projects in case ddg fails or goes evil.
I actually do use duck duck go. There doesn't seem to be any advantage to using G search anymore, the web has reached a critical mass of trash that just overwhelms unspecific searches.
I hear Duck Duck Go is pretty good these days. I tried their image search after Google removed a feature I liked and it had a feature I didn't even realize I wanted.
Probably time to switch search engines. Duck Duck Go results are as good as Google’s, and have been for a long time. Also, they don’t fill the first screen and a half with user-targeted spam and query-targeted structured data spam.
duck duck go is pretty horrible compared to google, for search results... i wish it wasn't. Tried it, both myself and my less tech savvy wife, thought wtf is this?
