Could you please review the site guidelines? One thing they ask is Don't be snarky. Your point here could have been the kernel of a more substantive and fine comment, but we definitely don't need swipey one-liners with ideological overtones.
Can you please make your substantive points without snark and swipes? The site guidelines ask you not to do those things, because they degrade discussion and we're trying for something else here.
You've got a good point but can you please make your substantive points without being snarky? This is in the site guidelines and is an important condition for curious conversation.
There's probably a good point there but to be within the site guidelines you need to express it substantively and without snark. This comment is better than the GP that way.
It's against the site guidelines to be snarky and to dismiss other people's work like this, so please don't. I'm sure you can make your substantive points thoughtfully, so please do.
Hey, could you please not break the site guidelines by taking personal shots at other users, being snarky, or posting in the flamewar style? It makes this place worse, regardless of how solid your underlying points are. If you'd review https://news.ycombinator.com/newsguidelines.html and make your substantive points thoughtfully, we'd appreciate it.
It looks like you've got an important and relevant point there but if you lead with snark, you'll probably just provoke more flamewar and make the thread more predictable.
A better version of this comment would drop the first couple words and then add information to explain what you're talking about and/or how you know it.
I'd ask for you to post a reply comment that isn't snarky, per the guidelines. I cannot have much of a productive conversation with your comment as it is.
