I don't even know what people really mean by 'professionals'. I think it's 'people with my exact workflow'.

I mean a lawyer is a professional and they can probably do fine with a 2014 Air.

it's my impression that professionals are business people lawyers doctors etc

You jest but the vast majority of lawyers in the US practice automotive law.

I also happen to be a lawyer and not an automotive editor, which I think helps. ;)

Maybe that's where being a pro on legal matters comes in?

Lawyer / legal professional

And yes, I know there are some exceptions but lawyers are notorious for being tech illiterate

>> Lawyers understand.

Actually, few do. However you can choose your lawyer, and therefore pick one well-versed in the relevant area of technology and who also has a network of expert witnesses and advisors.

I've heard the same from the lawyers I know as well.

Suddenly, being an IT professional doesn't seem that bad...

Doctors and lawyers do not need spec work because of professional licenses/certifications. The ABA asked your lawyer for spec work when she took the bar.

Dictionaries: not for loser bloggers

Lawyers do a lot of work where their licence is not really needed.
