The decline was only 1.2%, 4.8% is after a 4x "annualizing" multiplier.

...The decline was 0.1 of a year.

Nice graph. Yeah, it looks like it is a decline but far less than 50%.

Looks like it only declined from 7.5% or thereabouts. Is there a more specific figure in the full paper?

It has come down by about 50% in the last year.

US drop was also in that range, around 9.5%. (The crucial "annual rate" is missing in the headline.)

The growth rate is falling though.

That doesn't look like a very steep decline.

And the chart shows that despite falling since 2008, 2015 levels were nearly 50% down from 2014. So the decrease is accelerating.

Interestingly, that decline of 27% happened in...two weeks. The 65K peak was around April 13th.

That’s compared to the year ago period. If you compare to last quarter it’s down 20%

only started keeping stats 4 years ago, I would think since then any decline would be windows lowest; not to mentin the decline is less than 1 percent

What evidence of another 30%+ decline do you have? I'm not questioning that there is evidence, just genuinely interested in learning more.

An 8% decrease from one year to the next isn't very newsworthy IMO. This trend may not continue next year for all we know.

Yes, it did. It’s down 95% from its peak.

No, this is a (relatively) small decline after a massive increase:

2018 - 17k

2022 - 21k

Down 0.44% after 100% increase over the last two years

No, wait, compared quarter to quarter it really did decrease by 32.9%. The 9.5% is what would be missing if suddenly everything went back to normal. Which it won't.

It's dropped significantly since then.

so it's a steady decline?
