It pre-dates the internet. Happened with cable TV as well.

This was before the internet was widespread.

Before the advent of internet.

This wasn't pre-Internet though. This happened in 1987.

Which is how it worked before the internet.

This could have happened pre-internet through press. It'd a bit more more difficult logistically but this has always been possible.

pre-internet

Pre-internet, it was seen as both.

No, predates broadband at least. Certainly was around on Usenet in the nineties.

yep. the internet was around for years before it was viable. So were computers.

The internet predates the pc.

Same thing happened with the Internet.

Prior to the 1960s there was no internet.

After, of course. Before that most people didn't have access to Internet.

I'd like to add that this was not only before the public Internet but almost before the PC. :-)

The same thing could have been said about information in the pre-Internet era.

it started long ago, before government started scrutinizing internet platforms.

Because the "web" as we know it today did not exist until the mid-90's. Before then, there were a bunch of companies trying to sell their own Interactive TV offerings.

What? We had the internet back then...

...especially in a time before Internet access was common.
