You have to jump on the hype train to get all that juicy traffic to your "think pieces"

Sure. But would you refer to that as the "hype train"?

Hype trains are genuine interest. Short lived or not.

Getting attention isn’t anything to feel bad about.

If you’re lying in your marketing material, feel bad. If not, just build what you want and let the chips fall.

On the other hand, jumping aboard the hype train can be a good way to make some money without much skill. Might not be as fulfilling work, but it shouldn't be discounted.

This 100%. Some people are really productive on the hype train though, but most of them are careless.

After some time you realize: The hype train is traveling in a circle.

It’s a hype building exercise.

Hype train.

The reason for hype is attention economy and aggressive marketing.

All 7 ways boil down to "hype", as hard as you can.

Through some very strange twists of fate it seems to me that bot programming and starting a business ended up being "fashionable" things to do. And obviously as all fashionable things there's quite a lot of people that want to ride the hype train.

Statistics tell us that there will always be a certain percentage that are on the train just for the hype.

My 2 cents: getting on the train just for the hype is a clear indicator that you do not have a very good knowledge of yourself. Internal, time-tested, hard-earned kind of knowledge.

They can't keep the artificial hype train going forever.

"Just use whatever the hype train is going on about today, and change every six weeks."

All aboard the hype train.

I can't but think that this is such a "Hype Train" thing.

Hype=clicks, clicks=profit.

Indeed, the hype train is always miles ahead of reality.

I'm not sure what to make of all the "we are going to be high traffic stuff". A bunch of hype probably inspires you to deliver a little more, but beyond that it seems pretty risky. I for one am more apt to look for flaws if you've hyped yourself too much where I would have been inclined to look for strengths otherwise.

nothing like being disingenuous to ride the hype train

You gotta ride another hype train for a while
