This critique seems needlessly harsh and a bit offtopic to me.

That's a harsh critique, can you elaborate?

This reads like a harsh criticism; arguments would be welcome as to why you feel this way

What part of it seems like a criticism to you?

At least the quote pulled out here isn't useful critique, it's just insulting. I think that's the distinction being drawn here.

If this is criticism, I don't understand it.

Maybe. I personally think it's silly. Still, that's where I think the critique comes from.

i don't get it... what exactly is the criticism here?

That's a terrible critique. Care to elaborate in a way that can be discussed productively?

I don't understand your critique. Can you explain it more?

What exactly is your criticism of this?

Apologies, I genuinely don't understand this critique.

Criticizing it is totally okay. What the OP said though was much more than "constructive analytical criticism" - there was a lot of emotion and ambiguous assumptions built into his statement that make very little sense.

I agree that not every critique is a personal attack. But this one is (or at least seemed like one to me). There is not one character of feedback in that sentence

I'm not sure I understand your criticism

I'm not sure I understand your criticism here, care to elaborate?

I think this is a fair criticism. Delivered perhaps a bit acerbically.

Where have you encountered this critique? I didn't find it in the article.

It was a rather level, dry and solid critique, I don't think any well-adjusted person would consider it insulting.

He prefaced to let OP know that he doesn’t intend to be disparaging and only wants to offer feedback. Not every critique is a personal attack...
