This is intentionally done by one political party that does not care about democracy. They push policies that restrict individual voting rights, gerrymander districts for minority rule, and expand the influence of money over people. This has been their plan for decades, as they see the younger and more diverse America as a threat to their ideology. We have got to vote them out at every level.

They want voting process to be as painful as possible. That is on purpose.

This has nothing to do with humanity and everything with America's ridiculous voting system that allows this to happen. Looking in from the outside it's amazing to see the ways the system is being abused , from gerrymandering to voter denial, all to prevent the people to elect the leaders they want to.

A significant amount of people have been duped into voting against their own interests.

like republicans are making US voting system horrible so that they could have a chance of winning, that lesson?

It's the most economically rational decision for a very large voting block, but it is openly screwing entire generations as well.

Is that why the other side is disenfranchising the existing voters?

Republicans. It is Republicans who think more people voting means they will lose.

Now is a time to be absolutely frank and direct with our words and our actions. Our democracy is not invincible. It is not inevitable. It is teetering on the brink and if it falls, there is absolutely no guarantee that it will recover.

There is exactly one party who is trying to undermine the most basic principle of our democracy, and that is the Republican Party.

Every fallen democracy had an election that was unexpectedly their last.

Vote, donate, discuss accordingly.

They know this. They are just trying to fool the average person in to voting for a government which will increase immigration, remove employee protections and welfare.

I live in a one-party gerrymandered state, not a democracy. It makes perfect sense in my case to blame the politicians.

This is the result of the electoral college, gerrymandering, successfully convincing people not to vote, and fear mongering the death of white culture.

They have to do that to build a voting bloc: Feign alignment with the disenfranchised masses to win elections. Then enact policies that reinforce their rancor.

Uh... they are fighting back. By voting more money away from the minority. How kind of us to vote for someone else to pay the bill. Ain't democracy grand?

What a coincidence that the party most often claiming that government is incompetent is also the one doing the most to make voting difficult. Removing mailboxes, closing DMVs, fighting against early and absentee voting...

For their next party trick, they'll take away your water and electricity for wrongthink or not voting for the "correct" party. Shocking that some people think this is acceptable. If freedom falls in the US, the rest of the world suffers too.

Except, their voting rights were not taken away. They voted for a candidate that received fewer votes than his opponent. They didn't like the results. They were fed deliberate lies and baseless theories, and acted upon bad intelligence.

This is what you get when people keep on voting in big government types all in the name of safety, security and social justice.

It's like people voting for Trump.

Having seen how easily the electorate can be manipulated and how dumb people are, I've been seriously questioning democracy lately.

Well, yes, they are voting for what they want: to really hurt other people at their own expense.

The newspapers will scream that ranked voting is a conspiracy of the liberal elite to deny the will of the people.
