At those prices, there are vastly bigger addressable markets elsewhere.

On a country scale, the challenge is the wide range of prices in the US, even if the comparison is restricted to major metropolitan areas.

Sure, I'm just saying in other markets these places are already at mid-tier prices, and the US market looks like it's heading that way too.

What matters is mostly the global price.

It's not strange when prices are higher in places with high demand and fewer options.

It's more extreme because the domestic market size is a fraction of the US' domestic market.

Apart from people buying these for status there is another market - Hawaii and other remote places where prices are from 2x to 5x comparing to California.

Indeed. The other brands prices are also higher here.

There are too many to name, it's basically the entire developed world, which is basically NA, Western Europe, Australia, Japan, South Korea.

Not saying the US is not more expensive, but it's not a "huge outlier" by any means.

In spite of the insane prices too, particularly outside of the US.

The mark-up in western hospitals notwithstanding I can see a large market for cheaper devices in countries that are not so rich.

In other countries, they negotiate prices at the country level.

All of these factors are true in other countries where the prices are set nationally.

You're comparing an international market to a domestic market.

US$100 is a lot of money for a lot of people in other markets.

The prices are generally higher back there, for what I hope are obvious reasons.

Excellent points, but perhaps part of the reason for the price difference is because the US population is much more geographically dispersed, so the infrastructure costs are much higher.

Or for some there is a national base price.

Especially when different locales have different costs.

Location pricing was done before the internet and ad tracking. Some countries have richer people who can afford to pay more for luxuries.
