He cares because he represents a large group of people who believe in American superiority. Their worldview dictates that Americans are superior, and have 'dibs' on the products of the global economy. To suggest to them that there exist foreigners who are smarter and more skilled than Americans- even if only a small number of Americans, and even if only at a specific task- is quite offensive.
Sure we do. I care what the average person, or in case commenter, thinks about the situation. In fact more than I care about MSM’s opinion. You certainly seem to care with explicit/implicit cues in a lot of your comments.
As an American I care about this. As a human I care about this. I'm surprised I have to say that.
I'm not asking you to care about anything. I don't actually care what you think or care about to be honest. But I would hope that jonp888 or you or anyone aren't told their tragedy doesn't matter or that it happens because they don't care themselves.
By the very fact of how polemic Americans can be, Americans definitely do care. So, the real question is: is it maybe they're just not caring about what you care about? There's a myriad of issues a person can care about that you yourself probably don't and there's probably someone saying the same thing about you.
Huh, interesting. First time I read this comment, it said something like "why should I care what you think?" I guess the edit indicates that you do care?
I think they do care. People thinking the U.S. government doesn't care may as well be an indication that their efforts on propaganda are highly effective and successful.
American exceptionalism in one phrase.
