Mine has a line that runs to my garbage disposal, so normally no special cleaning is needed.

Well plumbing is supposed to be a closed system, so it should not need cleaning.

Is that manual cleanup really necessary?

Why would it need to be cleaned out?

Newer front-loaders seem to come with a self-clean cycle that does the trick (especially when you add some vinegar or bleach to the four hour process).

Most likely it's standard procedure to clean every unit that comes in for repairs.

Having to clean.

Nothing. Just like there's nothing wrong with not having it clean.

What kind of cleaning is being done here?

Tangent but this caught my eye:

>Cleaning of vacuum waste lines with chemical cleaning agent and crushed ice

Is there like a special ice cleaning slurry they use? Or do they just dump a bucket of ice and some chemicals in the lavatory and flush?

Ours has a cleaning cycle we run about once a month that sanitizes the machine. I've been adding a recommended cleaner with it, but I think even that is unneeded.

What cleaning? You just buy the new one.

I'm curious: What makes daily cleaning necessary?

We've weekly cleaning and it seems to be sufficient.

Cleaning?

cleaning?

Some of us clean them. It's trivial and involves a little vinegar.

Cleaning mine is extremely easy. It's just a basket with a detachable grate.

What's the easiest way to clean? Not make a mess in the first place.

The cleaning of the lines must be a pain and it would be a bit of a downside I’d think.

Hha haha. Ok interesting ideas. I’m Curious about the cleaning procedure for this? How often? Is it regulated? Are any health inspections done ?
