Yeah, YouTube Music is a dumpster fire. Don't use it myself, but Deezer is supposedly pretty good.

Eh, I just left Youtube Music considering to go back to Spotify. Youtube Music has a terrible UI, lacks features, and feels like an afterthought to entice people to get Youtube Premium.

Honestly, if you're paying for Youtube Premium, you might as well use YT Music, but it's all around worse than Spotify.

I'm currently giving Deezer a try.

I moved to Deezer. YouTube music was not an improvement on Google Play music. At least now I can get better quality audio

I have the same impression of Deezer. Clumzy. Bad UX. not much love for music despite…

I tried Deezer, Spotify, Play Music, none fits my bill so far. I'm currently using Amazon Prime Music (came free with my Prime sub so why not) and YouTube Music (same reason, free in my country for 3 months as it's rolling out). They are both OK (lots of issues with YouTube music being the same as you regular account though), but none is better than the other guys.

What's wrong with YouTube Music in your opinion? I haven't tried it out much but YouTube has a really good video player and an extensive library of music videos and music in general so I'm surprised you'd say it's awful.

I tried it and it sucks. In music I want high-quality audio, or at least the official music video. YouTube Music just throws anything at you.

YouTube music is fine (and comes with YouTube premium for free - or the other way around, depending on how you think about it).

Actually Youtube is not so bad.

Youtube Music is really .. strange.

It looks wrong/outdated everywhere.

Generated playlists (recomendations) are always (for days/weeks) the same. Not a bit randomization. It feels like they were approved by party commitete for years.

I don't understand why they decided social network in music service.

Ah hell. CUE-lists are still too novice technology for them.

I still think that last.fm 15 years ago was the best music service.

Unfortunately, Youtube is the youtube for music. :(

I really really wish I could love Youtube Music. But I just cant. It is even worst than Apple Music.

Eh. YouTube isn't a very good platform for music, and it's even worse if you aren't paying for the premium service. Why wouldn't you use something like Spotify?

+1 for Youtube Music. It kept all the music I uploaded to Google Play Music. I've found YT Music to be pretty good and comprehensive overall. Though, people definitely look at me funny when I say that it's my music platform though. Anecdotal, but based on my observation I don't think it has really any mindshare.

I still miss grooveshark.

Google Play Music was pretty good, especially the auto-generated playlists (albeit a bit repetitive after a while), made me discover a lot of artists, so of course Google had to kill it.

Nowadays I use Deezer and it's definitively worse.

Youtube music is absolute garbage. I can't use my youtube account, and I have to use my google account to access my tranferred music. And if I switch to my google account, I am logged out of youtube, and all my subscriptions are gone.

I listen to very uncommon music that's not available anywhere to be streamed. Google Play Music was the only solution for streaming all my collection. I am looking for replacements... please let me know if you have any. My current bet is something like owncloud.

Problem is that in take of new music is harder with these.

I don’t know if YouTube is any better, but I have switched all of my music consumption to youtube music app with the premium subscription.

YouTube music is really bad if you're anything beyond a very casual music listener though. The feature set is abysmal.

I share YouTube Premium and Apple Music family subscriptions but if pressed would give up YT Premium before I gave up Apple Music.

There are apps that work around this. I use NewPipe. No matter how bad the Youtube app is there is plenty of music to find there

For anything other than American and maybe European music, YouTube Music is so much better nowadays wrt availability. YouTube Music has stellar quality of recommendations too.

But Google could easily do a Google and sabotage the product at some point.

YouTube Music is so bad. Comically bad.

I had an amazing indie music discovery service in Google Play Music. I found so many fantastic underplayed artists, and it helped me explore all the small music venues in my city. I've got a wall full of signed albums from artists I discovered with Google Play Music.

YouTube music recommends Britney Spears. It's so awfully wrong about my tastes.

It also randomly inserts YouTube parody videos into my playlist. Why the hell would I want to listen to stuff like this https://youtu.be/-5jWtz3rzco ?

I hate Google so much now. They're like evil 90's Microsoft, but incompetent. They've got their ad monopoly / web destruction engine to sustain them, but they're Dilbert Pointy Haired Boss bad with everything else.

No gamers will be surprised when Stadia gets canned.

It'll be hilarious when they decide to shutter GCP. Remember when it leaked that they were internally threatening to defund it if they couldn't hit growth targets? Imagine all their B2B relationships getting hit as hard as their consumers do.

BTW YouTube Music Web gives me terrible experience. Any Google employee dogfooding it? (Android App is fine)
