There's at least a few books like that, though I can't name the ones I've read. I'm sure it's 2-3.

The TV Show Raised by Wolves is essentially this too.

This has been a plot of quite a few novels, so I'm struggling to come up with that exact one (if I've even read it). Off the top of my head, Children of Men is similar.

This plot is similar to Chinese "dog-blood romance" (that's what they call it, when its translated to English) novels which I've read, quite often.

michael crichton wrote Prey which is about something similar to this (i don't want to say too much so as to not introduce a spoiler). that wasnt from the 70s or 80s, though.
