$15 million profit, $8 billion valuation

LOL

sort by: page size:

8 billion is a lot of future profits.

That valuation should be for more like $3B in profit!

$8B sounds impressive until you realize the company is worth ~$110B.

That’s 23 billion of profit over 8 years.

$15B actually

I heard ~$25M post-money valuation.

Sweet.

So, $55M in profit.

That’s about 74 billion valuation. FYI.

They’ve made ~$15B on ~$65B invested. $15B!!! Ignore the sensationalist headline.

s/$8.55 million/$8.55 billion/

Awesome.

$8 million versus $20.

In a letter from the CEO, on the company's website, he states that a few "informal valuations" estimated the value at between 100k to 3.75million.

edit: here is the link to the letter: http://bit.ly/14VcIDP

Doing the math out loud:

Worth $1.65B April 19th, worth $1.85B December 19th (+$150MM in new money, for a post-money of $2B ignoring rounding, options pool expanding and preferences).

So their value grew ~12% in 8 months.

Income: $50m Cost: $14m settlement, $6m lawyers (guess) Result: $30m profit

Nice business model.

Well, ours was profitable and sold for $95M, kind of a definition of economic value.

Valuation was $10B per linked article for those curious (I was).

Where did you get the $15 billion figure from?

$800M invested and it's sold for $12M. What a rate of return!

* billion. At least I know the profit number is 57 billion
