Hulu does have an ad free tier now just in case you weren’t aware.

Hulu just started offering an ad-free option recently.

Hulu has an ad free plan

Hulu has an ad free plan and Netflix is offering an cheaper ad tier.

Hulu has had an ad-free option for most of it's life, although I think for a handful of videos the rights situation still required them to still show at least one ad for a movie or episode of a show

It changed. There's an ad-free option on Hulu now.

Hulu has ads in the "no ads" service too.

Hulu was never ad-free, it always had ads until the recent higher paid tier that is finally ad-free.

Hulu is now ad free. I don't use Hulu much, but I pay $12/month to not get any ads. I want to reward the major networks, the owners of Hulu, for offering their material to be viewed whenever I want to watch it.

I don't watch YouTube much, but $10/month for no ads, with prime music sounds good, and I will probably sign up.

Apparently there is a subscription version of Hulu on the way, which will be ad-free.

Hulu isn't ad free, it's less ads if you pay.

Hulu has an ad-free tier.

We had to move to it because our kids have not experienced commercials and would get upset every time some came on. They just didn’t understand interruptions to what they were watching.

Hulu Plus recently added an option where you can pay a bit extra (like two bucks a month) to make it ad free. It makes it a way more pleasant experience.

HBO, Hulu, Netflix, and Disney+ all have ad-supported tiers that materialized after an ad-free price increase.

I haven't used Hulu since they phased out the free tier, but I see in the article that Hulu generates $1bn in advertising sales per year. Do you still have to watch ads on the paid tiers?

Hulu makes it very easy to enjoy the content while avoiding ads. Just pay them the ad free rate to offset their lost ad revenue.

Hulu did the opposite: they initially had ads for everyone, but later introduced an ad-free package at a higher price.

I never paid for Hulu+ because the content I wanted had ads and the ads on Hulu are horrible. At least on broadcast and cable TV there's a mechanism to prevent the ads from getting stuck playing in a loop.

Hulu makes more per user on their ad tier than their ad free tier. If their ad tied is successful, cannibalizing users isn’t a bad thing.

Hulu did just recently add an ad free version: http://www.hulu.com/nocommercials. It's $12/month, whereas the ad version is still $8/month.
