On the upside look at how much money you'd be making now as opposed to in the past!

You'd still make a ridiculous amount of money before that happened.

Well. I'm making much more money without any of the stress, and for that I lost my 0.0001% chance of striking it big - great deal.

But I'd never change a thing in my past - I can make so much money now only thanks to that experience.

15% more than what I'm making now.

And you probably would have cashed out at a 10x multiple or whatever, so it’s not like you’d be a zillionaire today anyway.

You went from '200k a year' to '200k over five years'.

Yeah I'm really wondering what OP's income is like now

Well, in hindsight, $18k would have been a great time to get out.

If you had negative networth you came out ahead

I anticipated this outcome by becoming profitable eight years ago.

But I still want my $20K.

Let me guess: You wouldn’t have ended up making a million dollars a year.

100% the only way this would've paid out is if you stored them and truly forgot them.

If I did this back then, I would've sold in 2012/2013 for like $10 and made a couple hundred/thousand in college and thought I was rich.

Then now I'd prob be neurotically depressed thinking about how I could've had hundreds of mil lol.

It's a blessing dude.

Wow, how much I'm paying and how little I could have been!

That's assuming you had all the money at the beginning of the year.

I make more money than I did when I wrote the article ;)

Smart guy. I'd be about 30% richer today if I did the same.

Reading things like this make me wish that 15-years-ago-me had thought about that, and been making that kind of money.

There were far worse ways that I could have kept myself afloat, income-wise. I'm pretty okay with this one, thanks.

Even better, it would have been possible to avoid that spill with that money and you'd probably have enough left over for a healthy profit afterwards.

My taxes are lower and I've made a considerable amount of money in the markets. Other than that not much has changed, I'm much better off than I was 4 years ago
