I missed a _not_ in that sentence. I and most other people on HN obviously want to know everything.

sort by: page size:

Not obvious to everyone. HN is a place for people to learn, as well as discuss.

I don't think most people on HN realize this.

There are many things on HN about which I don't have much interest, and many things on HN about which I am interested but don't have time to follow up on.

So I don't try to keep up with everything.

I would have assumed everyone would know this stuff, especially on HN.

If you're the kind of person that frequents HN, I would have thought you'd have the google skills to find that out.

It's obvious I meant the people on the website, not HN itself.

Do most HN visitors know who they are? This title could have been better is what I was trying to (crudely) get across.

It's called Ask HN

Because you are not the only person on HN.

HN is an important site I guess.

The thing here is - I know this, you know this, most people on HN know this. But an average user won't.

You know, if you're on HN a lot and respond to questions like this, you share a lot of valuable private information. Which is publicly accessible.

I would have thought that someone on HN would know how to use a search engine.

It was an example. I do not know anybody else on HN. :-)

There are many of us on HN.

Ooops, considering I spend more time than is healthy on HN, I have no idea how I missed that.

> People not on HN

Thank you for pointing out the obvious: That even on HN people talk before they know even they tiniest thing about who or what they are talking about.

You're on HN, you're not the general public.
